GET INTO RUGBY PROGRAM
"The Get Into Rugby program is part of the World Rugby strategy to grow the Game globally in partnership with member Regions and Unions.
The aim of the program is to encourage players of all ages to Try, Play and Stay in Rugby. Get Into Rugby will promote the values of the Game and ensure children are encouraged to try Rugby in a safe and progressive environment" - World Rugby |
Philippine Rugby uses the Get Into Rugby program to introduce the sport in schools, communities, and foundations in the Philippines.
Our PRFU Development Team arranged a sample 8-session plan for any GIR-certified coach or teacher can follow when introducing the sport. Note that each session can be modified into touch, tag, or tackle - depending on the players' skills, abilities, and experience. Tackle/Contact training must only done if the coach/teacher has completed the Rugby Ready online and face-to-face course rugbyready.worldrugby.org/. If you need support in your GIR coaching sessions or is interested to introduce rugby to your school, community, or foundation, please do not hesitate to contact our Get Into Rugby Manager, Rose Lanticse, at [email protected] To know more about World Rugby's Get Into Rugby program, click this link! getintorugby.worldrugby.org/?page=85 The 8 session plan below is a resource for qualified coaches ready to teach Rugby in their local communities. |
