Player Welfare

Player Welfare

Player Welfare is an extremely important focus area for Philippine Rugby. The resources below are for all Rugby players within our program, and who take part in our competitions. Where Rugby is a safe contact sport, we will always nurture both physical and mental well being pre, during and post on field play.

The following concussion and anti-doping resources have been provided by our World Rugby Medical Representative, Steph Yee.

For additional resources on Player Welfare, you can source further information from World Rugby on their website

Concussion Guide: An information booklet

Philippine Rugby strongly advises each Rugby Club/Team/School to have a lead medical representative, this representative to be trained and educated on the latest medical advice from World Rugby. The following courses are available:

  • Level 1 - First Aid In Rugby (L1 FAIR)
  • Level 2 - Immediate Care in Rugby (ICIR)

The courses are held each year by our World Rugby Trainers. Please contact Steph Yee for more information at [email protected]
