Nomads, Alabang Eagles impress in JML 10's opener

2/12/2016

By Ivan Saldajeno

PARAÑAQUE--The Alabang Eagles and Nomads started their respective JML 10's cup division campaign with a bang as the tournament series began at the Nomads Sports Club on Saturday.

Nomads asserted its home-turf advantage as the club scored two wins in as many matches even as the Eagles also opened their own stint with a 2-0 record.

Tim Bweheni and Kai Stroem provided the spark for Nomads and the Eagles respectively.

Meanwhile, the Eagles' sister teams, the Ibons and the Falcons, also surged to a 2-0 start in the plate division.

On the other hand, a fourth Muntinlupa-based squad, the Alabang Loros, scored a win in the bowl division along with Subic, QCPU, and Albay.

But while all of Alabang's male teams made an impression at the start of the tourney, the female squad was not that lucky as the Lady Eagles fell to CBRE in their clash.

CBRE would also go 2-0 in the women's division following another win against QCPU.

Action will shift to the Eagles' Nest inside the Southern Plains in Calamba on Feb. 13 before returning to the Nomads pitch on Feb. 20. The finals will take place on March 5 also at Nomads.
