![]() Cavite, Philippines - The third and final leg of the 2022 Globe 7s Series Luzon - National Development Division will kick off this weekend at Philippine Rugby's home ground, the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub. Five teams from leg 2 are back to compete for the leg 3 title, with SKF Makati Mavericks poised to win the overall season NDD trophy from their back to back festival wins on legs 1 & 2. With Clark Jets unable to field a team this weekend, the Manila Tarsiers have taken the 6th team slot for the leg 3. The Tarsiers team is from the Manila Nomads Rugby Club, and will compete alongside their fellow clubmates, the Manila Kalabaws. This is a testament of the growth and development of the oldest rugby club in the country, the Manila Nomads Rugby, which started with predominantly expatriates members. The La Liga will once again field 2 teams for this upcoming leg and will look to finish strong this season. With a young group of players being coached by Andy Brown of the National teams program, and mentored by former Philippine Volcano Paulo Jordan, expect a motivated La Liga side to give a fierce challenge for the top spot for this leg. Another team to watch out for this leg is the young Albay Bulkans squad. Most of the Bulkans came from their u19s side and on its first year of senior competition. Led by veteran Ric Bellen, the Bulkans will be extra motivated to continually improve from leg 1 (5th place) to leg 2 (4th place) and learn as they compete against the best homegrown players from the country. These passionate Bulkans squad also travel 10 to 12 hours from Bicol to Manila just to compete in the domestic competitions, It will be a full day of rugby on Saturday and we invite families, friends, and supporters to come and cheer for their favorite teams.
