Cavite, Philippines – After a successful festival on August 13, 2022, the National Development Division (NDD) will hold its second leg this Saturday, September 10, at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub. Seeing action again are the defending champions SKF Makati Mavericks, Clark Jets, Nomads Kalabaws, La Liga 1, La Liga 2, and the Albay Bulkans. The six teams competing are divided into two pools – SKF Makati Mavericks, Albay Bulkans, and La Liga 2 for Pool A, and Clark Jets, La Liga 1, and Nomads Kalabaws (Kalabaws) for Pool B.
Looking to continue their 4-game winning streak in the 2022 Globe 7s Series, the SKF Makati Mavericks will kick off the festival at 9:00 AM against the La Liga 2. The champion team will still be led by captain Lito Ramirez, along with leg 1 Most Valuable Player Manny Eduque. Ramirez and Eduque also played for one of SKF Makati Mavericks’ Open Division teams on August 27.
The Albay Bulkans, led by their newly-appointed coach Emmanuel Moramul, are also looking forward to improving on their performance after seeing action for the first time in the NDD leg 1. With almost 4 weeks of preparation for this leg, La Liga 2 also aims to bring out a more competitive team play this weekend.
In Pool B, the Clark Jets, who ended leg 1 as the 2nd-ranked team, are in high hopes to top their pool again for a chance to clinch another spot in the finals. However, expect matches in this Pool to be very tight because of the development and vast improvements from both the Kalabaws and La Liga 1. First match for Pool B will start at 9:25 AM between La Liga 1 and Nomads Kalabaws.
All fully vaccinated individuals are invited to come and watch our matches live at the venue. Gates will open at 8:00 AM for all the supporters. #SaturdayIsRugbyDay!
