The last Get Into Rugby Festival/CBRE Juniors Tournament for 2014 was held last Saturday, December 6, at British School Manila field in BGC, Taguig City. Nineteen juniors touch and tackle teams under the PRFU Usbong Rugby program came to the venue to compete for the top spot. Three teams competed in the u12 Touch division. Alabang Eagles topped this division with two wins and no losses for a total of six points. Clark Jets Rugby Club from Pampanga came in at second with a win and a loss for a total of three points. British School Manila ranked third after a hard fought close fight versus the Jets. It was the Leighton Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation boys who emerged as champions in the u14 Touch division with three wins and no losses. The boys from Muntinlupa scored seven tries in three games and no tries scored against them to dominate this division. These games also served as a good preparation tournament for them for the upcoming PSC Batang Pinoy Games 2014. Most of these boys will also compete in the said tournament scheduled on December 13 in Bacolod City. Five teams played round robin games in the u16 Touch division. Clark Jets Rugby Club regained their dominance in this division by securing the top spot with three wins and a draw for a total of ten points. Haven for Children from Alabang was a close contender at second place with three wins and a loss for a total of nine points. Leighton Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation finished at third with two wins, a draw, and a loss for total of seven points. In the u12 Tackle games, International School Manila won two games (12-5 and 17-5) over the Alabang Eagles. British School Manila topped the u14 Tackle division with a 14-5 win over rival International School Manila and a close nail-biting 7-5 win over the much improved Alabang Eagles. Alabang Eagles u14 registered their first win in the Tackle division with an exciting and hard fought 19-7 win over the International School Manila.
Alabang Eagles and Clark Jets Rugby Club competed in the u16 Tackle division. Match ended with a draw 10-10 for these two teams composed of all-Filipino boys.
