Cavite, Philippines – After an action-packed 2022 Globe 7s Series leg 1 on 27 August at the Alabang Country Club (ACC), players from the Open & Women’s division prepare for the upcoming second leg of the 7s competition this Saturday, 24 September 2022. Open & Women’s Division teams will grace PRFU’s home turf, the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub, for the first time this season, and are hopeful to switch things up in the rankings after the games this weekend. ![]() With Clark Jets and SKF Makati Mavericks Lagalags begging out for the Open division for the upcoming leg, and La Liga, SKF Makati Mavericks Franky, and Clark Jets begging off in the Women’s division, the second leg will be played in a Single Round Robin format (SRR). Manila Hapons (leg 1 7th rank) and Ibons (leg 1 6th rank) will kick off at 9:00 AM for the Open division, and sister teams Eagles RFC (leg 1 1st rank) and Ibons (leg 1 5th rank) will face off for the Women’s division at 9:50 AM. All preliminary matches are expected to end at 3:40 PM, with a 25-minute break before the battle for 3rd and finals games. It will be a very thrilling Saturday for all Rugby fans as reigning champions of the Open division, Eagles RFC, will be meeting the Ibons and the Manila Hapons for the first time in this series. In the Women’s Division, leg 1 champions – Eagles RFC will play the same teams they went up against last August 27, as we await for their meet up with Clark Jets women’s team, hopefully in the third leg. Other club teams look forward to taking on the challenge of playing in a SRR format to build on more wins for them to reach the finals or battle for third. A lot of great individual players and teams will be leading their squads, and we are in high spirits to see great match ups among the playing teams. Another jam packed #SaturdayIsRugbyDay for Philippine Rugby, so we hope to see everyone at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub! For those who cannot come, Upstream Sports TV will also be streaming the games live on their Facebook page and will be shared on Philippine Rugby’s Facebook page. Comments are closed.
