"We're really excited to host our first Training and Education Superweek for the first time since 2016. A massive thanks is owed to Philippine Olympic Committee and World Rugby for supporting the event through Olympic Solidarity. This is the sort of event that helps boost the quality of coaches we have to build the greater Philippine rugby community", says Philippine Rugby President and World Rugby Trainer, Ada Milby. The T&E Superweek has an estimated 150 Trainers, Educators, and participants from across the clubs and regions in the Philippines. World Rugby Trainers from Hong Kong and Singapore were also invited to share their expertise in the different strands of the game. “It’s great to see the Philippine Rugby Union (PRFU) host the Olympic Solidarity & World Rugby Training & Education (T&E) Superweek. It highlights the importance for Unions to have strong relationships with their NOC as it enables them to tap on additional funding. The PRFU will benefit from having experts from across Asia delivering high level courses in the country, and also further develop the local workforce to deliver entrance level courses going forward.", says Gene Tong - World Rugby Regional Training Manager (Asia). PRFU looks to continue its initiatives for local T&E development into 2022 to support the strategic goals and increase participation and awareness of the sport of rugby in the Philippines. Thank you to the POC and World Rugby for supporting T&E development in the country. If you would like to host a course in your area, please contact us at [email protected] Comments are closed.
