This summer Ayala Malls have teamed up with the Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) and the Philippine Volcanoes to teach, grow and develop youth rugby. The Globe Volcanoes Junior Rugby Clinics will be part of the Ayala Malls - 'Play' Campaign. The clinics will be held across seven weekends this summer across Metro Manila, Alabang, Nuvali, Bicol, Pampanga and Subic. The PRFU have set an aim to teach the game to 15,000 new participants each year through to Tokyo 2020. Rugby 7s is one of the latest and most exciting sports to be re-included into the summer Olympic Games. "Rugby is on the rise in Asia and the Philippines is playing a major role in it. Rugby has certain values we as the national governing body teach. These include teamwork, solidarity, passion, discipline and respect. These are the World Rugby values, as the PRFU we add our own unique touch including being Proudly Pinoy, to leave a Legacy and being Drug Free" Matt Cullen, Managing Director of the PRFU. The Globe Junior Volcanoes Rugby Clinics will be focused on a fun, active and family orientated environment. Participants from both genders as young as 8 years old are encouraged to join. Touch Rugby's activities include running, passing, swerving, tagging and catching, the basic skills for rugby. "Both Ayala Malls and the PRFU have the same vision, getting the kids to be more active and play sport. The Play campaign is a great initiative and we know the kids will love it this summer. After all, our Philippine Volcanoes will also be there to teach the fun sport to ensure they only learn from the best" Jake Letts National Teams Head of PRFU stated. The clinics start this weekend May 7 at Glorietta, Ayala Malls Solenad and Ayala Malls Legazpi.
