As the Philippine Volcanoes participate in Rugby competitions both locally and abroad, the team knows the constant need to be hydrated. The punishment the Volcanoes take from opposing players and the aggressive nature of Rugby combine to make the sport a very physical endeavor.
Recognizing the need to keep the Volcanoes hydrated and refreshed to excel in any competition, Suncoast recently agreed to be an official sponsor of the team.
“Without the proper amount of electrolytes in our bodies, our brain’s ability to communicate with our other various systems might not be as smooth,” shares Suncoast Lightwater vice-president Jasper Ong. “In a demanding sport such as Rugby, every player needs to be in tip-top shape, and we want to give our Volcanoes exactly that as they compete for our country.”
Suncoast Lightwater contains electrolytes such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium, each of which will keep the bodies of each Volcano balanced as far as nutrients go.
“As we embark on several important matches while representing the Philippines, we’ll be fighting to make the country a force to be reckoned with on the international Rugby scene,” said Jake Letts, captain of the Volcanoes. “When we take on the best the world has to offer, it’s good to know we’ll stay hydrated and active in every match because we’ll have Suncoast Lightwater in our corner.”
As the national rugby team of the Philippines, the Volcanoes have been making a name for themselves in various tournaments worldwide. With 2015 looming as an important year for the Volcanoes as the country will serve as the host of the Asian Rugby Championship in May, Suncoast Lightwater will serve as their fuel in their quest for gold and further Rugby glory.
